Welcome to the Rotary Club of Bonita Springs Web Site

The Rotary Club of Bonita Springs has a long, distinguished tradition of serving
our community and the world. The
Club was chartered in 1978, and is the home Club to nearly 100 members.
Club meetings are held Wednesday mornings at 7:30am at the Bonita Bay Club
in Bonita Springs, Florida.
During
the winter season, Club attendance reaches nearly 150 people including members,
guests, and visiting Rotarians. Because
our seasonal Rotarian visitors are such an important and vital part of the Club,
we created a special designation of “Rotary Regulars”.
In addition to Rotary Regulars participating in our many fund raising and
social activities, they plan and conduct one Club meeting each year, which is
enjoyed by the Rotary Regulars and Club members alike.
Through
the Club’s non-profit foundation, nearly $100,000 is contributed annually to
local and international charities. The
Rotary Club of Bonita Springs and its members impact the world, funding the
digging of wells in third world countries so villagers have access to clean
drinking water, and buying shelter boxes that contain pre-packaged tents, with
essential survival gear for people that have lost everything.
Shelter boxes contributed by the Club have been used following
hurricanes, tsunamis and most recently in Pakistan, where devastating floods
have left thousands of people homeless. The
Rotary International Shelter Box program has responded to disasters in 33
countries and aided nearly half a million people.
Rotary International is the spearheading member of the Global Polio
Eradication Initiative and is the largest private sector donor.
It has contributed more than US$600 million to the polio eradication
activities in 122 countries.
Club
members assist the monthly Shots For Tots program that provides immunizations
for the needy, and annually distribute dictionaries to grade-schoolers as part
of Rotary’s Dictionary Day. Our
Club’s Foundation provides direct and lasting support for the Art League of
Bonita Springs Youth Outreach Program; Bonita Springs Literacy Council; Bonita
Springs Little League; Boy-Scouts of SW Florida; Junior Achievement;
Scholarships for Estero High School graduates; YMCA of Bonita Springs; Girl
Scouts of Gulfcoast Council; Bonita Springs Assistance Office; WGCU-TV Reading
Rainbow program; and Estero High School Project Graduation.
Rotary
is a worldwide organization of business and professional leaders that provides
humanitarian service, encourages high ethical standards in all vocations, and
helps build goodwill and peace in the world.
If you are a professional, civic, or business leader looking to associate
with like-minded people who serve our community, please contact our Club’s
Membership Chair, Nancy Ross, for more information. Rotary provides the vehicle for transforming casual contacts
into real friendships, and allows one to contribute time, resources, and talent
in positive ways to serve the less fortunate. Nancy can be reached at
